Some 5th-8th grade students enjoyed cultural day at Camp Sevenstar; celebrating Native American Heritage Month. Students learned about the history of stickball and then played a game. Students also shot blow guns and participated in cultural storytelling. We even learned a little about rattlesnakes! We enjoyed a traditional meal of hog meat, brown beans, potatoes, and fry bread. Thank you to the Native American resource center and Camp Sevenstar for hosting us. We had a great time.

These images are the last of many taken of the STEM trip to Arizona. We traveled many, many miles together during this trip and got to know each other better. We hung out with different tribes , Apache, and Navajo and learned some new things about their culture, tasted their foods, and saw the beauty of their tribal lands. Students bonded over their robotics and putting finishing touches on their presentation board. Parents got to know one another, and it felt very much like a family. We had an amazing time and we are so thankful to our Dahlonegah School Board for allowing us to go. Thank you to our first year STEM team for putting in the work and effort during and after class to get to go and compete. Thank you to the parent volunteers who went along to help care for the students, fixed sandwiches for lunch, and chaperoned the stay and event. Thank you to Mrs. Storm, Mrs. Scott, and Mr. Cain for helping with the financial planning and scheduling, and to those who covered classes and duties while we were gone. It take a village! Lastly, thank you to Mr. Faddis for planning and making the trip possible through the application process, and for the time and effort that you put into each of the students and their projects, and for driving the bus countless hours across many states to get everyone and everything safely to the competition and back home again. Thank you everyone! We are truly blessed at Dahlonegah School.

When we return to school we are committed to being proactive to communicable diseases. That will include but not be limited to head lice, stomach virus, colds, flu, COVID-19, and STREP. We will be doing head checks when we return to school. If live bugs or nits are found. That student will be sent home until they are treated. Parents must remain onsite until child is cleared to re-enter. If your child has a fever or has been throwing up they must stay home until they are free for 24 hours.
