Thanks to all the teachers, students, and support staff for cooking, cleaning, serving and donating your time, and money. You are awesome! All proceeds will go towards the 8th grade class trip in May.

These students participated in the 2023 Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics and Indian Capital Technology Centers’ Math Contest on March 6th.


We would like to announce the first and second place winners of the 2023 Dahlonegah School Science Fair! Tate Clawson and Hector Garcia won 1st place in the 5th-6th division with their project, " A Helping Hand", and Shelbi Bunch, Taylen Hummingbird, Kobey Kirk placed second with their project titled, " Turn Milk into Plastic". Jaycey McGee and Taydrie Sawney won first place in the 7th-8th grade division with their project, " The Effect of Cold Temperatures on Goldfish Respiration". There was a tie for second place between Dixie Sherman's project "Optical Illusion", and "Parachute: Does Size Matter?", by Denver Bruner and Manual Sanchez. The Best in Show was Awarded to Tate Clawson and Hector Garcia. We are extremely proud of all of our students who participated in the Science Fair. The projects and experiments were so impressive. Everyone did excellent work with the Scientific Process and putting their projects together. A Huge shout out to Mr. Braden and Mrs. Clawson for putting this project together and encouraging all students to reach their fullest potential. The competition was fierce and the scores were very close so everyone should be proud of themselves!

Yesterday, our 6th -8th Grade teams went to the Cherokee Language Bowl and they took 1st and 2nd place! Our kids had to face-off with each other twice and they were all really good sports about it. We continue to be proud of all of them and representing our school well.
Our second place winners were Nelson Leach, Jacey Cutnose-McGee, Winter Diver and Addie Wolfe. Our first place winners were Dally Davis, Coleton Green, Gracie Oosahwe, and Blue-bird Duncan. ᎣᏍᏓ ᏂᏣᏛᎦ ᏂᎦᏓ! (Good job, everyone!) Keep learning the language.





On Tuesday of this week, we took two teams of 3rd-5th graders to the Cherokee Language Bowl. Both of our teams placed 3rd in their bracket. We are so proud of our students who have a passion for the language and continue to grow their Cherokee language skills!
Our girls team consisted of Prayrie Davis, Lexi Coiner, Layla Nakedhead and Makenna Gann. Our boys team was Elijah Proctor, Balin Eli, Elin Wolfe, and Taitan Lovett. ᎣᏍᏓ ᏂᏣᏛᎦ ᏂᎦᏓ!

These students participated in the OSSM/ICTC Math competition today. We are so proud of you for representing our school!


Kindergarten through second grade Cherokee Language Bowl teams competed at the Greasy Immersion School Site today. They did a wonderful job representing our school. We are so proud of them for competing. Mr. Duncan has done a wonderful job teaching the language and we are thankful for Granny Reba helping as well! Great job teams!



We are so proud of our young contestants for placing third in the Cherokee Language Bowl! The competition was held at the Greasy Immersion School site. This team is comprised of Hattie Hale-Kindergarten, Lincoln Valdez- first grade, Cash Isaac-first grade, and Alecka Sevenstar-second grade. Way to go team! 3rd-5th grades will compete tomorrow and 6th-8th on Wednesday. Competition begins at 9:15, and parents are welcome to attend though seating is limited. Thank you!


Native Ace is on for Wednesday, March 8! Students will need to have a ride home. Thank you!

The 8th grade class will have an Indian Taco fundraiser on Thursday, March 9, 2023 in the school cafeteria from 4:15-6:00. You can dine in or carry out. All proceeds will go towards the 8th grade class trip in May. Thank you for supporting our students!


Indian Taco Sale!


The Cherokee Nation WIC Summer EBT program application is now open on the Gadugi Portal. Cherokee Nation citizens are eligible to apply for this program up until the deadline of April16, 2023, 11:59 pm. The program assists qualifying families in buying nutritional food during the summer when students are out of school. For the months of May, June and July, eligible students will receive approximately $30 per month of food on an EBT card. To be eligible, families must have a child or children receiving free or reduced meals through their public school and the child or children must be attending a participating school.


February Perfect attendance students enjoyed a nice bag of cotton candy for their efforts of coming to school everyday! Way to go everyone! Keep it up!
